Full-Time Training - Testimonies

A Clear, Controlling Vision, S.G.

I first came into contact with the local church, the ministry of Witness Lee and Watchman Nee, and the Full-Time Training all in one sitting at Cypress College on September 30, 1996. At the time I was a 20-year-old charismatic Christian about a year old in the Lord, having been baptized just the summer before. The Lord had provided for me a completely fresh start that fall as I had just come out of an extremely difficult situation to move to quiet and peaceful Cypress, California on August 31, just a month before I met those involved with the local church at Cypress College. I had just began to seriously read the Bible, experience the Holy Spirit through prayer, and give my life absolutely for God, though I hadn't a clue what that meant. So it was during the summer of 1996 I began to pray and consider strongly what was the Lord's will for my life and the direction He was taking with His people. That consideration placed a searching in my heart for the assembly of God's people and for what He was doing on earth and where specifically He was doing it. So it is in this context that on September 30^th, 1996 I met two believers who were in the Full Time Training in Anaheim. Right away I had a deep sense of peace and joy at their reception of me as a fellow believer and they wanted to fellowship with me right away. They then invited me to a Bible study on campus the next day, and that began my meeting with the church in Cypress enjoying meeting after meeting, nearly daily, for the next few weeks. It was at this time I began to be acquainted with the writings of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee and it was through these writings that all the puzzle pieces of the Bible I had seen got put together, making the Bible so living and clear. After eight months or so, in April of 1997, I went to a retreat with the local church that was on the matter of the church as God's heart's desire. It was there that the Lord made it clear to me through His inner speaking that I needed to go to the Full-Time Training in Anaheim (FTTA) to serve Him. So it was then I consecrated myself to Christ and the church, for the building up of the Body of Christ, and I scheduled out my college curriculum to graduate in the fastest possible time, because for the first time, I saw a clear vision of what God wants and what He is doing. I was making a radical decision to follow the Lamb wherever He was going. I chose to be at the center of His move all the days of my life because everything else was going up in smoke (Revelation 19:3). So I arrived at the FTTA in August of 2000, directly following my graduation from college in June of 2000. So right now as I am coming close to my graduation in June, I'd like to testify that my decision to go this way is more solidified than ever as the vision of Christ and the church are getting more and more clear as each day passes by. I'm happier than I have ever been in my life and I am so thankful for the Lord's mercy for placing me here.
